They seem to be well made, and held up to the washer and dryer with no problem - in fact they came out a little bit softer, no fabric softener used. They weren’t super stiff to begin with, but the fabric is heavier, similar to twill. I have them on feather inserts inside and on outdoor pillows on a covered porch.
